Preserve expensive athletic fields during the worst drought.

Keep seasons alive even when the city runs out of water.

During droughts one of the places cities look to save water are Athletic fields and recreation areas. They are always hesitant to make a decision that allows a nice lush football or soccer field dry up and die but when it comes down to a decision between citizens having a shower and the football field dying the citizens win.

The problem is that it can cost upwards of 2,000,000 (2 million dollars) to re-turf a soccer field and this could be required repeatedly if a drought re-occurs.

A2WH can prevent the death of the athletic field by producing a sufficient amount of water to keep the field alive completely independent of the city supplies. The original cost of implementing A2WH varies by region depending on the temperature, humidity and amount of water needed but it is generally less than the cost of two   re-turfing.

Another impact of drought especially on football is that as the football fields dry up they become hard and dusty. The hard surface dramatically increases risk of injury and any water put on a field close to death simply turns to mud. The net result is that the home games for an entire season can be canceled which has a tremendous negative impact on ticket revenues and sponsorship.

A2WH can eliminate the risk of having to cancel the home games by producing enough water directly from the air to keep the fields alive and healthy. It is obviously requires more water to keep a field in fully playable condition than it requires to simply keep it alive but the extra cost of the additional A2WH units can be covered in a single bowl game.

Note:   U.C.A football field in Conway Arkansas is reporting their football field to be at risk due to a drought. There are also a number of fields at risk in New Zealand. According to the climate change reports issued by New Mexico, Texas and California a larger number of more severe droughts can be expected over the next 10 years which means even more fields will be at risk.
